How to Diaper Stockpile for At Least Nine Months

I’m not kidding, the day I found out I was pregnant I started buying diapers. Tanner is now 5 months and I have not bought a single diaper! Of course I’m going to tell you how I did it and if you are expecting, I recommend you start!

Each week I bought a large box of diapers from Amazon, but before I did my research on how many diapers I would probably need for each size. I wasn’t extremely accurate, but I was pretty damn close. All diapers come with a weight recommendation and depending how big your baby is, they will stay in one size longer than others. I like to call this “diaper fluctuation ” so make sure you save your receipts to exchange later if you need to! We use Huggies diapers.

Without further ado!

You will only need one box of newborn diapers. Usually the hospital sends you home with enough diapers until you reach size 1. Take all the free stuff they give you!

You will change between 8-10 diapers a day. In a Huggies large box of diapers there are 216 diapers. I recommend buying three boxes of this size. If your baby is on the smaller side then I would buy four.

The next size is a 2 and its for babies up to 18 pounds. In this box there are 246 diapers. I would also recommend three boxes of this size. By four months your babies weight should double. If you had a 7 pound baby he/she will now be 14 pounds and still have plenty of room to grow into the diapers.

The next size is a 3 and your baby will most likely stay in these for some time. They go up to 28 pounds! I bought four boxes and we still have not touched a single one. He will likely be in a size 3 until his first birthday!
